SAN ANTONIO, Texas —  In the aftermath of the Sutherland Springs shooting, law enforcement is sharing their knowledge to help protect other churches.

A safety and crime prevention seminar took place Tuesday at Castle Hills First Baptist Church. Church and local authorities addressed security concerns and discussed emergency procedures. Officials said to survive attacks, congregations should have a plan and always be prepared.

“The whole congregation needs to know what the plan is as far as avoiding a threat,” said Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar. “Denying that threat the access to an area wherever you may be concealing yourself, and then as a last measure, defending yourself.”

Authorities also added that unless they have information, it's difficult, or even impossible to prevent future attacks.
