CRYSTAL CITY, Texas -- A year and a half ago, federal agents raided Crystal City, charging so many people with crimes, it practically wiped out the city's government.

Now it's time for the trial of ousted Mayor Ricardo Lopez and former city manager/city attorney James Jonas III.

Their trial on bribery, fraud and conspiracy charges started Monday and could last two weeks. Three former councilmen have already pleaded guilty to one count of bribery and await sentencing.So has a fourth man who wasn't in city government.

The Express News reports all are standing by to testify against Lopez and Jonas.
