Breast Cancer Survivors Prep for Art Bra Austin Event

AUSTIN, Texas -- For the sixth year in a row, The Breast Cancer Resource Center is hosting its annual fundraising gala, Art Bra Austin.

This year’s event will showcase 61 pieces of wearable art to be modeled and auctioned, with all proceeds benefiting BCRC.

We sat down with one artist and survivor, Olivia Moreno, who created a bra called “The Ring Master”. Moreno was inspired by her oncologist, nursing staff and schedulers. She sees them as ringmasters cracking the whip to bring chaos back to order. Since its inception in 2012, Art Bra Austin has raised over a million dollars for The Breast Cancer Resource Center.

BCRC provides services and programs to its clients free of charge, regardless of their circumstances. This year’s Art Bra Austin event takes place on Saturday, June 3^rd at the Austin Convention Center.
