Austin Police responded to a 911 call from a passerby on the trail at 9:30 Monday morning of a possible body in Lady Bird Lake near Pleasant Valley Road and Canterbury Street.
APD did locate the body of a woman in her 60s. APD Homicide and Travis County Medical Examiner are investigating.
According to Public Information Officer Polansky, of APD, “Anytime you find a body in the lake it is naturally suspicious,” but it is too early in the investigation to consider it a homicide. APD will continue to handle it as a suspicious death since it occurred in a body of water.
