AUSTIN—There is a new radio station that is the first of its kind, Pride Radio is custom-designed for the LGBT community.

iHeartMedia representatives say the early feedback from the community on Pride Radio has been only positive.

The station's on-air programming, including news and contests, is devoted to LGBT listeners.  All of the DJs are members of the gay and lesbian community. The station is the second LGBT-focused station in the country. The other is in Minneapolis.

"I think with this just being the first of it's kind here; it makes sense. I mean, Austin is a trend-setter city. Everybody follows Austin. So it only makes sense that we launch this here,” said Travis Hill, with iHeartMedia.

People can listen to Pride Radio on 97.5 FM as well online at www.975prideaustin.com and via the iHeartRadio app.
