AUSTIN, Texas (AP) – A former elementary school teacher in Austin has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for abusing several students while in classrooms.

Alfredo Andrade-Gaytan was sentenced as part of a plea deal.

The 34-year-old Andrade-Gaytan pleaded guilty to indecency with a child by exposure and was sentenced to 10 years. He received a 20-year term for indecency with a child by contact. A judge assessed a 25-year prison term for continuous sexual abuse of a young child.

The terms will be served concurrently by Andrade-Gaytan, who was arrested in mid-2014 when a 6-year-old child complained of sexual abuse. Andrade-Gaytan was also charged with molesting children ages 5 and 8. He was fired after his arrest.

Andrade-Gaytan, who worked in the Austin Independent School District since 2009, was sentenced Aug. 4.
