ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. -- There's a variety of subjects on the November ballot in Alamance County.
- Five Constititutional Amendments and three bonds will be decided
- Amendments range from fishing and hunting protections
- Voters will also be deciding on tax increases with the three bonds
In addition to federal and state offices up for election, several county seats will be filled in areas like the Board of Education and Appeals Court Judges.
The last page of the ballot is getting extra attention this midterm. Five Constititutional Amendments and three bonds will be decided.
The amendments range from fishing and hunting protections to the creation of a Board of Ethics and Elections Enforcement.
Voters will also be deciding on tax increases with the three bonds.
One will increase the Local Sales and Use Tax by .25 percent. Another will give $39,600,000 to Alamance Community College renovations and improvements. The third will give $150,000,000 to Alamance County School upgrades.
The school upgrades will range from property to property. Pleasant Grove Elementary will get a complete overhaul. The six high schools will be renovated and some will be expanded.
A new high school would be built from the bond money. One school board member says every current high school is currently at or above capacity.
