ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Laura Rideout, her sons Alex and Colin, and her boyfriend Paul Tucci all appeared in court Monday morning, with all four pleading not guilty to charges of murder and evidence tampering in the death of Craig Rideout.
They are accused of killing Craig, then dumping his body in a Yates County field on the morning of July 20. His body was found wrapped in a tarp, secured by bungee cords, with his face disfigured by a corrosive acid. Police said Rideout was strangled in his Penfield townhouse.
According to court paperwork, Tucci bought a tarp, bungee cords and three bottles of heavy duty drain cleaner. The paperwork also reveals Craig Rideout's car remote was found in the bedroom shared by Tucci and Laura Rideout.
Laura, Alex, Colin and Paul Tucci were arrested after Craig's death on tampering with physical evidence charges, but earlier in December, they were indicted on murder 2nd charges.
Bail remains the same for all four, despite the District Attorney's Office seeking a higher bail.
"The idea of bail is to assure the appearance of the next court date and the court said it felt comfortable that the current bail would ensure that," said Tim Prosperi, prosecutor.
The judge did limit travel for all four suspects to Monroe, Wayne and Ontario counties.
The next court date is scheduled for January. June 20 was marked on the court calendar as a trial date.
