TAMPA, Fla. — If you can’t afford those exorbitant Super Bowl LV ticket prices, or you’d just rather not risk catching COVID-19 even for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, the NFL is offering an opportunity to be seen cheering your favorite team on in the stands.

What You Need To Know

  • Fans can upload an image to the NFL and have a cardboard cutout of themselves appear in the Super Bowl stands

  • The price for getting a cutout into Raymond James Stadium is $100

  • Those who buy a cutout will be entered to win two tickets to Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles

Like the Tampa Bay Rays did for their truncated 2020 pandemic season, the National Football League will be placing cardboard-cutout pictures of fans around Raymond James Stadium for the Big Game. Anybody with $100 can get in on the seat-filling action by uploading an image of themselves (or, presumably, a loved one) to a dedicated website.

As an added bonus, proceeds from the program will be donated to local charities. The Bucs have chosen Feeding Tampa Bay, which has helped so many families keep food on the table before and during the pandemic.

“It’s been challenging to gather more and more food. Most of the food we’re distributing now we’re actually purchasing because we can’t keep up in donations with food,” said Kelley Sims, Chief Development Officer for Feeding Tampa Bay. “In March, we saw this dramatic increase – in fact, a 400% increase in those who needed our care right off the bat.”

And best of all, the NFL will be giving away two pairs of tickets to next year’s Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium in L.A. to a couple of participants chosen at random.

There are, as always, a few caveats:

  • No commercial advertising is permitted, and while team gear is encouraged, only NFL-branded attire will be accepted.
  • No “lewd, inoffensive or inappropriate” images will be used, nor will any that feature any negative comments about the NFL or NFL teams.
  • Keep your anti-Democrat/anti-Republican/anti-vax/pro-life/pro-choice/etc. comments to yourself.
  • Only one person should appear in your photo.

You won’t be able to select your seat, and will not be told exactly where your cutout is located within Raymond James Stadium. However, after the game, you can locate your cutout on the “Fan Cam” and share it via social media. A link to the “Fan Cam” will be emailed to all participants, as well as available at nfl.com.
