BROOKSVILLE, Fla. -- A 35-year-old Brooksville woman was killed early Wednesday when she was struck by a vehicle.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Laura Kennedy was attempting to cross State Road 50 in Spring Hill when she was struck.
Troopers said Kennedy was struck after she stepped into the path of a Buick sedan while trying to cross SR 50 at Fort Dade Avenue just after 1 a.m.
Kennedy was rushed to Bayonet Point Hospital, where she later died.
The 33-year-old woman driving the Buick suffered minor injuries, along with her 42-year-old male passenger.
The crash remains under investigation.
