Josh Rojas has been a reporter with Spectrum Bay News 9 since 2006. To him, the purpose of a story is to make an impact on the community and viewers it interacts with. Josh has always admired the journalists who could capture their audience, and learned from them to create pieces that are often a call for action. With Associated Press awards under his belt, Josh knows how to tell a strong story.

One story he reported on was about a sinkhole in Seffner that killed a man in his sleep. The intense and tragic story was picked up by CNN International, and Josh worked hard to obtain exclusive video of the sinkhole and provide some closure to the family of the victim. Josh will always remember the strength of the Tampa community during Hurricane Irma, and the way the Spectrum News team was there through it all to provide community members with the most up to date news.
Like many, Josh lives for the Florida lifestyle. In his free time, he soaks up the sun at the beach and rides his bike along Coffee Pot Bayou or North Shore Park. A self-proclaimed foodie, Josh’s favorite restaurant in Tampa is The Mill in Downtown St. Petersburg. The best kept secret of Tampa Bay, you may be wondering? In Josh’s opinion, it’s Outback Key.
