Mike works out of our Tampa Bay studios as an anchor and reporter.
Mike comes to Tampa by way of Cleveland where he spent the last 16 years as a weekend sports anchor for WKYC-TV (NBC) and WEWS-TV(ABC).
Mike was the sideline reporter for the Cleveland Browns Preseason games for five years at WKYC-TV, working with such names as Don Criqui and Todd Blackledge.
In 2015 at WEWS-TV, Mike was part of a great team that won an Emmy for Best weekend newscast.
While in Cleveland, Mike also worked for "SportsTime Ohio", the regional sports home for the Cleveland Indians, where he was the main play-by-play voice for all High School and College Sports. He earned Tony Awards in 2009 and 2010 for his in the Division I state high school football championships.
In 2006, Mike created his own show for SportsTime Ohio called “Tee It Up Ohio”, a golf show that traveled around the state of Ohio and eventually to such great destinations as Arizona where he and his partner, PGA professional Jimmy Hanlin, provided golf tips, rules and local knowledge of the courses to golf fans. The show lasted for seven years.
In 2012, Mike was inducted into the Ohio Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
Before Mike headed to Cleveland, he spent 10 years in Washington, D.C. as the weekend sports anchor at WJLA-TV (ABC).
While at WJLA, Mike acted as the sideline reporter for the Washington Redskins Preseason games, working with Hall Of Famers Sonny Jurgenson and John Riggins.
Mike’s hidden secret: singing the national anthem in the Washington Capitals old arena in Landover, MD.
Mike got his start in broadcasting in his home town of Albany, N.Y. in 1985 after graduating from Plattsburg State University with a bachelors degree in Radio/Television Communications.
Mike started in radio as a morning sports guy before landing his first TV gig at WRGB-TV as a weekend sports anchor and then sports director.
Mike has been through enough winters in his life and is excited to finally put his toes in the sand full time here in the Sunshine State and explore everything this great state has to offer.
As an avid beach volleyball player, you won’t have to look hard to find him diving in the sand at a beach somewhere in Florida.
