U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer paid a visit to Syracuse on Monday alongside local leaders to call on Congress to reauthorize the Undetectable Firearms Act.

It is expected to expire in less than a month.

Schumer said the act helps with keeping ghost guns off the streets.

It requires four ounces of metal in every gun, which ensures every gun sets off metal detectors.

Syracuse Police Chief Joe Cecile said this is a critical issue and that detectives found two 3D-printed guns last year.
