This week, candidates in New York’s critical congressional races filed their latest finance reports, detailing the size of their campaign coffers at the start of 2024. 

The filings include fundraising and spending totals from the fourth quarter of 2023, which stretched from October to December. Here’s a breakdown of the data.

NY-1

In this Suffolk County district, Democratic challenger Nancy Goroff, who previously ran for the seat in 2020, outpaced incumbent Republican Nick LaLota in fourth-quarter fundraising. However, LaLota entered the year with more than double the amount of cash on hand.

In the Democratic primary, Laura Gillen, who was the party’s nominee in the 2022 cycle, outraised state Sen. Kevin Thomas in the past three months of 2023.
