BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown and his administration are getting some national recognition.

The National Center for Healthy Housing recognized two different initiatives taken to help keep residents in the city safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This includes Mayor Brown’s Good Neighbors Network, a program where door hangers were distributed to homes and could flip to alert neighbors or volunteers that they needed assistance.

The City’s Department of Permit and Inspections Services was also recognized for their lead safety bag distribution. The bags contained fliers in multiple languages and outlined steps to reduce lead risks.
