Parts of Hanapepe Town Park and Lucy Wright Park in Waimea will close for construction from January through the end of April, according to Kauai County’s Department of Parks and Recreation.
The closures at Hanapepe Town Park will allow for crews to dismantle the playground; install water, electrical and sewer utilities; and install a new restroom facility. Construction of a new playground will begin in the summer.
Demolition work on existing bathrooms, installing a new restroom and repairing the pavilion will close portions of Lucy Wright Park from Jan. 8 through the end of April.
