WISCONSIN — The Wisconsin Badgers have a new quarterback for the 2025 season.

Former San Diego State quarterback Danny O’Neil has committed to Wisconsin football, according to a post the athlete made on X.

According to reports, O’Neil had visited Madison over the weekend to meet with head coach Luke Fickell.

It comes after former Wisconsin quarterbacks Tyler Van Dyke and Braedyn Locke both entered the transfer portal.

As a freshman at San Diego State, O’Neil threw for 12 touchdowns and 2,181 yards. He was born in Indianapolis.

Wisconsin’s 2024 season came to an end in a 24-7 loss to Minnesota at Camp Randall Stadium. It was the first time in 22 seasons the team finished the regular season with a losing record and without a bowl berth.
