OHIO — The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles is extending hours at locations across the state in an effort to help Ohioans become compliant with the Real ID deadline.
Starting on May 7, those looking fly domestically with a state-issued ID need to have a Real ID, identified by a star in the upper right-hand corner of your license or state identification.
In order to help Ohioans make the switch to the Real ID, Ohio's BMV is expanding Saturday hours for service until 3 p.m. on April 26 and May 3.
The BMV said additional documents are required in order to acquire a Real ID to prove:
- Full legal name
- Date of birth
- Legal presence in the US
- Social Security number
- Ohio street address – Two documents, from different sources, proving Ohio street address that are listed on the Acceptable Document List are required for proof of Ohio residency
- Proof of name change (if necessary)
