AKRON, Ohio — Students from LeBron James' “I Promise” School had the chance to play golf Wednesday morning, in partnership with the Kaulig Company.
Zaire Williamson is one of the students who learned the game.
“It’s amazing," he said. "I can’t even put it into words."
Victoria McGee, the senior director of the LeBron James Family Foundation, said golf isn’t a sport that most of these kids have played before.
“A lot of times, you know, unfortunately, students aren’t exposed to golf,” she said.
McGee is very thankful that the Kaulig Company has given the students a chance to learn the game.
“Just the laughter and the excitement and interacting with people, it’s really a priceless opportunity for our students,” she said.
For Williamson, it has inspired him to keep getting better at a sport that he loves.
“I’m like super happy about golf, and I think I can continue golfing in the future by putting my mind to it and not giving up,” he said.
