Meagan Smithyman is Executive Director of Community School and Family Outreach for Tampa YMCA, and says the Sulphur Springs center creates some unique challenges to expand programs.

The YMCA program is hosted inside Sulphur Springs K-8 Community School, and expanding programs and services comes down to more community partnerships.

“The families look to the Y as someone for quality child care, family engagement and access to resources,” said Smithyman. “It’s really just who can we collaborate with to expand our capacity and do more to serve more families.”

The Sulphur Springs YMCA currently has no wait-lists for summer programs, but Smithyman says she expects wait-lists by the end of next week.
