LOUISVILLE, Ky. —The 151st running of the Kentucky Derby is Saturday, May 3.
The top 18 horses, according to their points, earn a spot in the starting gate for the Run for the Roses. There will be 19 horses running this year. The Kentucky Derby features three-year-olds and they run 1 1/4 miles.
This year’s Derby field features Santa Anita Derby winner, Journalism and Arkansas Derby winner Sandman.
