In partnership with Going Green Recycling and Castle High School, Windward State Representatives Scot Z. Matayoshi and Lisa Kitagawa invite the public to drop off electronic waste and recyclables at the Going Green Recycling Event, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 31.
"We are offering a safe and convenient way for residents to dispose of electronic waste and recyclable materials," said Matayoshi (D-49, Kaneohe, Maunawili) in a release. "Proper disposal helps prevent toxic substances from ending up in landfills and leeching into the soil or our water supply."
Kitagawa (D-48 Kaaawa, Kahaluu, Ahuimanu, Heeia, Kaneohe) added, “This is a great opportunity to clean out your home and get rid of e-waste and other recyclable items responsibly. Together, let's reduce pollution in our community and safely dispose of our waste.”
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early at the Castle High School auditorium parking lot since the drop-off line is anticipated to be long. The event will end promptly at 11 a.m.
