State Assemblymember William Conrad was inspired to run for office after teaching high school history and government, where he would tell his students that "everybody should run for office once." He is proud of his district's (NY-140) manufacturing prowess, which includes cars, candy and more.

The legislative accomplishment Conrad is most proud of is allocating $5 million to rebuild a wastewater treatment plant in his district.

The three words Conrad associates most with his district are "home, love, and water." Conrad's first job was as a paper carrier.
