DAYTON, Ohio — Cedarville University received national recognition with a Silver Status as a Military Friendly School for the 2025-26 academic year.

The award is for the university's support of military-affiliated students.

The Military Friendly Schools list is released annually and recognizes colleges and universities that show strong support in serving military communities.

Institutions across the country are evaluated on a range of criteria including: academic policies, student retention, financial air, loan repayment, career outcomes and overall campus support for military affiliated students.

Cedarville's recognition with a Silver status means it met or exceeded several national benchmarks, including: 

  • A one-year retention rate of at least 50% or higher for all students or veteran students alone
  • A graduation rate of at least 50% or higher for all students or veteran students
  • A loan default rate of 20% or lower for all students
  • A job placement rate of 50% or higher for all graduates

"Beyond these metrics, Cedarville University remains committed to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for military-affiliated students," Cedarville University said in a news release. "The university offers a variety of resources, including Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) programs, assistance with VA education benefits, a military support organization and individualized services designed to meet the unique needs of student veterans and their families."
