ASHTABULA, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the plane crash from the holiday weekend that left the pilot dead and a passenger injured.
Officials said a Zenith 701 struck a tree and crashed near SR 307 after departing from the Germack Airport in Geneva.
The pilot was identified as Alan C. Kettunen, 75, of Geneva, who suffered fatal injuries because of the crash. Jeffrey J. Roth, 59, of Madison, was identified as the passenger and sustained non life-threatening injuries.
The plane crashed just after 10 a.m. on Sunday in Harpersfield Township.
Officials said the incident remains under investigation.
