ST. LOUIS–Utility crews from as far as Kansas City will be helping restore services in the St. Louis region impacted by Friday’s possible tornado activity that left 5 dead and injured at least 38 in the city of St. Louis.

By Saturday evening, Ameren Missouri reported more than 66,000 statewide without power, with over 20,000 being in the city of St. Louis.

Officials with Spire have not released updated outage information as of Saturday evening. The company says crews are working with first responders and local partners to assess damage, with a priority on responding to emergency calls to restore gas service.

Impacted customers should call 800-887-4173. Technicians will re-light pilot lights on appliances.

If you think you smell natural gas, officials say to leave the area and call Spire’s emergency number at 800-887-4173 or 911. Do not return to the property until Spire or a first responder on scene says it’s safe.
