EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — The Urban Voices Project is more than a choir.

The performance ensemble is made up of artists and performers from Skid Row who use music to heal and inspire. It's comprised of people who are currently experiencing homelessness, are in transitional housing or used to be homeless and have stayed on to be a mentor to others.

The collective says it aims to reshape public perception of the homelessness community.
