BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A source tells Time Warner Cable News Buffalo police are investigating an incident involving Sabres player Evander Kane overnight.

They say it occurred in the Chippewa nightclub district of Buffalo late Thursday night into early Friday morning.

The Associated Press says investigators are trying to determine if Kane physically harassed two women at a bar.

A Buffalo police spokesperson would only say that the department is in the preliminary stages of investigating the allegations.

Kane's attorney, Paul Cambria, says his client did nothing wrong and wasn't involved in an incident or ejected from a bar.

Calls to the Sabres have not been returned.
