Christina Reis is a Western New York native and proud meteorologist for Spectrum News 1, providing the Weather on the 1s forecast to the communities across the Western New York region. Prior to this, Christina spent three years as the weekend evening meteorologist at KSNT in Topeka, Kansas before heading back home to predict the weather forecasts for the area in which she grew up. Motivated to keep her home state proud, Christina challenges herself to learn something new each day on the job while being the best meteorologist she can possibly be.

While weather and forecasting is known to be an imperfect science, Christina loves being kept on her toes by the ever changing weather patterns. With experience forecasting not far from tornado alley and now in the lake-effect snow regions, Christina has covered her fair share of memorable stories. For her, one that sticks out as the most meaningful was her coverage of an EF-4 tornado. Christina was apart of the storm-chasing crew and was on the scene immediately after the tornado had passed, covering the aftermath and damage the storm had done to her community. Christina was able to rescue a dog during that storm and reunite her with the owner later that day.

When Christina isn’t in front of the green screen, you can find her stopping for a bite at Duff’s or Mooney’s. A passionate Bills and Sabres fan, Christina goes to a game every chance she gets. In her down time, you can find her relaxing at home with her two cats or going for a stroll through one of the various parks Western New York has to offer.
