ROCHESTER, N.Y. — ​People in the trucking industry are visiting at Edison Tech this week to show them what it’s like to get under the hood or behind the wheel of a big semi-truck.

The industry is trying to recruit a new wave of employees as a major trucking shortage continues to get worse.

Rusty Stetzel, workforce development coordinator for the Trucking Association of New York, joins Spectrum News 1 to discuss what the scope of the shortage, what’s causing it and what effects it might have of the economy at large.
