BRIGHTON, N.Y. — Brighton volunteer ambulance EMT's were given their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine Tuesday afternoon.

The captain tells Spectrum News the process went smoothly and praised the county for helping bring his providers a layer of protection in the continued fight against the pandemic.

"It was a huge relief for us as responders because, for so long now, we haven't known what we've been bringing home to our families. And getting this vaccine helps protect them as well as us so that we can keep doing the jobs that we love," said Brighton ambulance public information officer Captain Tim Hutchings.
