Brooklyn Coun­cilman Proposes Co-Naming Busy Street Junction after Muhammad Ali

There's a proposal to co-name a popular street in Brooklyn after boxing legend Muhammad Ali.

Councilman Jumaane Williams is looking to dedicate the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Nostrand Avenue as the Muhammad Ali Triangle.

Williams says the co-naming of the shopping center and transit hub will serve as a tribute to Ali's "impact on the community, nation and the entire world."

The Junction would not be the first place in the city to pay tribute to the boxing legend.

The stretch of West 33^rd Street between 7^th and 8^th Avenues was temporarily renamed "Muhammad Ali Way."

Ali died on June 3 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

He was 74 years old.
