RALEIGH, N.C. – Raleigh fire crews say children playing with lighters is to blame for a fire that sent a man to the hospital Saturday morning.

  • A fire on Scott Drive was started by children playing with lighters.
  • One man sustained non-life threatening injuries. 
  • Two dogs are missing.

Crews responded to a home on Scott Drive near Capital Boulevard around 9:00 a.m.

When they arrived on scene they say everyone who was in the house, including pets, were outside on the lawn.

Crews were able to knock out the fire in under 10 minutes.

One man was injured and take to the UNC Burn Center. He is expected to recover.

Two dogs are missing from the scene. It is unclear what kind of dogs they are.
