Bastrop Voters Elect Connie Schroeder as New Mayor

BASTROP, Texas -- In Bastrop, civil engineer Connie Schroeder received 59 percent of votes for mayor.

The only other candidate in the race, veteran Bastrop City Council Member Willie DeLaRosa, received about 41 percent.

In the race for Bastrop City Council District 3, Lee Harle netted 43 percent of the votes, while Lyle Nelson received 39 percent.

Of the 5,083 registered voters in Bastrop, only 1,036 voted in this election.

The election results will become official once the City Council certifies them.
