ORLANDO, Fla. β€” An NBA player is now taking up one of the biggest conspiracy theories out there: the moon landing.

Steph Curry from the Golden State Warriors says the U.S. never landed humans on the moon.

  • Steph Curry asked during a podcast if 'We ever been to the moon?'
  • NASA says it has proof to show man has been to the moon

He made the comments during a podcast on Monday. During the taping of Winging It, Curry posed the question, "We ever been to the moon?" Others responded, saying "nope", and Curry agreed.

The three-time NBA champion is influential and his comments raise concerns that fans, especially young ones, will also doubt one of America's greatest achievements.

Ironically, it was 50 years ago this month that the Apollo 8 crew orbited the moon for the first time.

This upcoming July will mark 50 years since the first moon landing, when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin made history with one giant leap for mankind.

In total, 12 American astronauts have been on the moon and NASA is ready to prove it.

NASA has invited Curry to tour the lunar lab at the Johnson Space Center in Houston where the agency has hundreds of pounds of Moon rocks stored there.

NASA has plenty of material on its website to back up the lunar landings, including images from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter showing the locations of the Apollo landing sites.

Curry did respond to NASA's invitation with a tweet showing a sunglass wearing emoji.

Astronaut Scott Kelly tweeted, "Steph, so much respect for you, but re the moon landing thing, let's talk. DM me."

By the way, NASA is planning to send humans back to the moon, before eventual missions to Mars.
