ORLANDO, Fla. — Spectrum News got a first look at Universal Orlando’s new Epic Universe theme park, which is scheduled to open on May 22. Guests can explore five themed worlds: Celestial ParkSuper Nintendo WorldThe Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of MagicHow to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk and Dark Universe. Celestial Park

Upon first arrival at Epic Universe, park goers will step into the Chronos, a portal that opens up to the five worlds. The first world to greet visitors is Celestial Park, the heart of Epic Universe, where guests can enjoy attractions and dining while being surrounded by Mediterranean-inspired architecture. This world features two rides: Constellation Carousel and the Stardust Racers roller coaster. Dining options include the Oak & Star Tavern, Pizza Moon and more. From Celestial Park, visitors can enter the four other worlds.

Super Nintendo World

Video games come to life in the vibrant Super Nintendo World. Once guests enter the green pipe warp pipe, they will be greeted by iconic landmarks including Princess Peach’s Castle and Bowser’s Castle, along with familiar creatures like Koopas, Goombas, Piranha Plants and much more. With the purchase of a Power-Up Band, park goers can play interactive games and collect digital coins. Rides in Super Nintendo World include Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge and Yoshi’s Adventure. And in Donkey Kong Country, visitors can ride Mine Cart Madness.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic is Universal Orlando’s third Harry Potter-themed world. Visitors can explore streets inspired by 1920s wizarding Paris, and then take the Métro-Floo to the British Ministry in the 1990s, where the Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry ride can be found. Stroll through cafes and enjoy a Butterbeer Crepe, or catch Le Cirque Arcanus — a live show inspired by Fantastic Beasts. Guests can also shop for wands and participate in interactive experiences throughout the area.

How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk

This immersive world based on DreamWorks Animation’s trilogy, “How to Train Your Dragon,” features viking-themed attractions, characters, dining, shopping and more. There is no shortage of dragons in this world! Rides include Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, Fyre Drill and Dragon Racer’s Rally. The heart-warming live show, The Untrainable Dragon, features characters Hiccup, Toothless, Gobber and Astrid as they solve the mystery of The Untrainable Dragon.

Dark Universe

Dark Universe is inspired by the classic Universal Monsters. This shadowy world features elaborate architecture, themed attractions, dining options, shopping and more. Rides include Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment where guests must try to escape the latest experiment by Dr. Victoria Frankenstein, and Curse of the Werewolf — a spinning roller coaster. There is also a Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience, which is available for all age.
