The new rail will connect Orlando to multiple cities in South Florida, including Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach. While tickets are now on sale for dates beginning Sept. 1, the company has not announced when the official grand opening will be.
The new rail is different from the Orlando-to-Tampa rail, but the opening for that has not been announced.
Tickets start at $79 one-way for adults, and $39 for kids. Brightline is also offering discounts for groups of four or more. Premium tickets start at $149 one-way.
Before Brightline can take passengers on board, they have several positions to fill. The employer needs to fill about 170 jobs as they prepare for the opening.
Brightline officials are looking to hire at their station at the Orlando airport, as well as their vehicle maintenance facility. Jobs range from food and beverage employees, security, and on-board staff, as well as many others.
A spokeswoman with the company says jobs start at $20 an hour. While requirements vary from job to job, Brightline officials say they’re looking for people with a shining personality.
“You may have an opportunity and you might cross paths with a guest, and you might make that difference between just a regular trip and a special moment where you felt seen,” said Sandy Pinos-Chin with Brightline human resources. “So, our teammates are the ones who make that difference.”
Brightline will join many other employers at a job fair at the Orlando Fairgrounds located at 4603 West Colonial Drive. The job fair kicks off from noon to 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 17.
