Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial kickoff to summer, and it looks like our rainy season is kicking into gear too.
Skies will be dry to start with a mix of sun and clouds from the morning into the early afternoon. It will be warm and muggy to start with temperatures in the low to mid-70s.
By the afternoon, temperatures will heat back up to around 90 degrees along the east coast while inland areas will feel temperatures into the low to mid-90s.
The east coast sea breeze will then spark storms along the coast by early afternoon, which will then spread storm chances farther west and inland through the rest of the day. The highest chance for afternoon storms will be along and west of I-95.
Some of the storms could be strong to severe with high winds and hail. Any storms that do develop will last into the early evening before tapering off. We will have a similar setup for Memorial Day.
