ORLANDO, Fla. — SeaWorld Orlando has finally set an opening date for its Ice Breaker roller coaster.

The long-awaited attraction, initially set to debut in 2020 but delayed multiple times during the pandemic, will open to the public on Feb. 18, the theme park announced Monday.
“Ice Breaker is anything but chill,“ SeaWorld said in a tweet.
SeaWorld previously announced an opening timeline for the coaster but stopped short of releasing an exact date.
Ice Breaker will feature four launches, forward and backward, including a reverse launch that takes riders into a 93-foot-tall spike before sending them into a beyond-vertical drop—the steepest in Florida. The coaster will reach speeds of up to 52 mph across 1,900 feet of track.
With a 48-inch height requirement, the ride will have a lower height requirement than many of the park's other coasters.
The coaster, located across from the park’s Wild Arctic attraction, will also highlight its conservation partner Alaska SeaLife Center, a facility dedicated to research, rescue, rehabilitation and education. SeaWorld plans to share more details about the partnership in the coming months.
SeaWorld will also hold previews for its pass members on various days from Jan. 30 through Feb. 15, depending on pass level.
Ice Breaker is the latest coaster opening at a Central Florida theme park. In June, Universal Orlando opened Jurassic World VelociCoaster at Islands of Adventure. And Disney World plans to launch Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, an indoor coaster, at Epcot this summer.
