Nicole Griffin is an Orange County multimedia journalist. She has been with Spectrum News 13 since January 2019, spending her first three years based in Daytona Beach and proudly reporting on the communities across Volusia and Flagler Counties.

Nicole is no stranger to Florida: Born and raised in Miami, she finally left the state in 2012 to attend Syracuse University, where she earned degrees in Broadcast and Digital Journalism and Marketing Management. After graduating, she started her career in New Bern, North Carolina where she covered important stories such as the devastation of Hurricane Florence in 2018 and the tragic search for missing toddler Mariah Woods. When the opportunity to work at News 13 presented itself to her, she jumped at the chance to return to her native Florida.

Nicole loves the challenge of telling a great story and wants to use her platform to amplify the voices of those in her community. She holds her viewers' trust in high esteem and uses storytelling as a way of reinforcing that trust amongst her and her colleagues.

Since starting her journey at Spectrum News 13, Nicole has covered a number of notable stories, from the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, to being out in Hurricane Nicole, as well as the fiery finish of the 2021 Daytona 500, which earned her an Emmy nomination for breaking news coverage.

In her spare time, Nicole likes to visit Orlando's many wonderful theme parks and explore the great outdoors. She also loves trying out new recipes in the kitchen and heading back to her childhood home in Miami when she gets the chance. If she’s not doing any of those things, she's probably hanging out with her cats and bunnies. You can find her at @NicoleNews13 on Twitter, @NicoleGriffinNews on Instagram, and Nicole Griffin Spectrum News 13 on Facebook.
