Donations are being accepted on Thursday for those impacted by the massive fire in the village of Ovid

Storage containers will be available at the Seneca Falls Police Department parking lot and the Seneca County Sheriff's Office for donations of clothing, furniture, household items and toiletries.

The Ovid Fire Department says the fire impacted six businesses and 10 apartments, none of which could be saved. That includes the Big M and the Italian Kitchen restaurant.

Fire officials say 60 people are now unemployed and an additional 15 to 20 people are without a home.

It took 200 firefighters working nine hours or more to bring the fire under control. The source of the fire has been identified as a charging device and an electrical outlet in an upstairs apartment.

The fire department will be providing food to anyone in need at the firehouse from 4 - 6 p.m. on Thursday.
