GRAY SUMMIT, Mo. — Purina Farms in Gray Summit has cancelled events and closed due to damage from severe weather on Friday, according to a statement. It was set to reopen in late April, but staff say extensive repairs are needed before then.
The Visitor Center, Pet Center, Barn and Dog arena were damaged by a possible tornado, according to a statement.
Officials say all onsite employees and animals are safe.
“All of our animals are accounted for, safe and being cared for by our staff and with the help of our community partners,” the statement said.
Several trees on surrounding streets also collapsed, causing road closures.
