  • So far 700 people have died after the 7.2 magnitude earthquake

The group has been in Haiti since 1998 and has a crew on the island helping with the rapid initial response.

The earthquake has devastated the region, killing more than 700 people. The 7.2 earthquake was stronger than the 2010 quake and Matthew 25 Ministries CEO Tim Mettey said the island was still repairing its infrastructure before Saturday's quake.

Mettey said Matthew 25 Ministries plans to send clothing, disaster supplies and a medical team in the coming days and is asking for donations to help with those efforts.

“We just want to show other people that we’ve never met that we care and really that caring gets people through the hard times,” he said.

Mettey said Matthew 25 Ministries needs monetary donations as well as cleaning supplies, first aid items and bottles of water.

The organization is accepting donations at their Blue Ash facility at 11060 Kenwood Road and on their website.
