LOS ANGELES — Building on their love of motorcycles and curiosity about the world around them, Keanu Reeves (“The Matrix,” “Speed”) and Gard Hollinger join forces for The Roku Channel’s “Visionaries.”

For Reeves and Hollinger, who in 2011 founded ARCH Motorcycle, ARCH is mindset and lens through which to see the world. Together in “Visionaries,” they embark on a journey of curiosity to understand where human creativity comes from and to shine a light on the visionaries who are pushing the bonds of innovation and changing the world.

In an interview with Spectrum News, Hollinger said he hopes people will feel inspired when they watch “Visionaries.”

“I hope they learn something, and maybe allow themselves to explore their own creativity,” he said.

The visionaries featured in the series were chosen from different worlds, or different fields, to have variety.

“We go from an artist who is working with a crater to a gentleman who is manufacturing rockets, to an architect in Norway, to Paige, who is doing sculptures with bronze. Maddie is going into the ocean. It was tough,” said Reeves.

The visionaries came together through a lot of research, but also because either Hollinger or Reeves knew about them, or someone told them about that visionary.

“Some people said no,” said Reeves.

“Some people said maybe later,” said Hollinger.

While his childhood was an engine for his creativity, Reeves told Spectrum News the process of creating and making “Visionaries” has been inspiring. How might it impact the way he approaches future roles?

“If you want it to happen, then you got to make it happen, so maybe there’s some type of transmission with this experience. Not that I needed much of a reminder before, but to see these people and this experience … what can be achieved with one’s creativity and the energy, it is like yeah, you can rest, but keep going,” he said.

“Visionaries” will begin streaming on The Roku Channel Friday.
