LOS ANGELES — Thousands of homes and businesses, as well as many lives, were lost in the Eaton Fire — including the homes and studios of artists who lost lifetimes’ worth of work. 

Altadena has long been an enclave of artists, including Evan Chambers, who creates unique glass and metal artworks. Chambers lost his family home and studio.

While many artists vow to rebuild and continue living and creating in Altadena, many also wonder if others can preserve their community’s unique and diverse character.
