Chuck Ringwalt is an Emmy-award winning journalist and anchor for Spectrum News 1 Ohio. Since arriving in 2018, he has traveled the Buckeye State telling the stories of Ohioans.

He graduated from the University of South Carolina's School of Journalism and Mass Communications with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. In 2022, he received the school's Outstanding Young Alumni Award.

Throughout his reporting, Chuck discovered a passion for understanding where our food comes from and the people who grow it. Chuck hosts Spectrum News’s Ag Report, a weekly agriculture-focused segment, as well as highlights the issues that affect farmers including trade tensions, adverse weather conditions and an ever-evolving industry. Chuck has also shared the personal stories of Ohio’s farmers including that of Kane Lewis, a budding fifth-generation farmer who became paralyzed after a hunting accident and the state organization helping him continue working independently and carrying on a family tradition.

Prior to arriving at Spectrum News 1, Chuck served as a multimedia journalist and anchor for WLTX in Columbia, S.C. In 2015, he reported in Charleston after the attack on Mother Emanuel AME Church. Less than one month later, he reported on the removal of the Confederate flag from the grounds of the South Carolina State House. He traveled the Palmetto State showing viewers the devastation caused by a historic thousand-year flood. He also reported on Reverend Billy Graham’s death and funeral in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the Gamecocks 2017 run in the NCAA Men's Final Four March Madness Tournament, in Glendale, Arizona.

Chuck’s broadcast awards and honors include “Best Television News Anchor” as well as first place “Best General Assignment Reporting,” both presented by the Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland Pro Chapters of The Society of Professional Journalists. He received first place honors from the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors for Best Feature Reporting. He is also a two-time Emmy-award recipient from the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for outstanding work.

Currently, he serves on the board of directors for the Society of Professional Journalists, Central Ohio Chapter. He is a member of the Radio Television Digital News Association and the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. In 2022, he was a featured panelist at the NABJ x NAHJ Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Chuck is originally from the Philadelphia suburbs. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also values his involvement in the community, often volunteering at his church, St. Brendan the Navigator, and serving as a mentor and advisory member for the Tolles Broadcast Video Productions Advisory Committee.
