Most of the state is only seeing 10 to 20% change, while the Tupper Lake region of the Adirondacks and Windham region of the Catskills have seen 30 to 40% of their leaves change.

Brisk, cool weather is on tap for the first weekend of fall. Saturday will be the better day to get outside, with showers spreading from west to east across the state on Sunday.

Cold nights and cool days over the next week could lead to an explosion of color across the Adirondacks and Catskills. The Adirondacks especially could move along quick over the next 7 to 10 days with below average temperatures expected.

This foliage blog will become much more in-depth and rich with pictures as the season progresses.

We’d love to see your fall foliage pictures from across the state. You can share them by using the Spectrum News App.
