Tonight will feature periods of rain which will fall steadily and heavily at times with temperatures climbing through the 30s and 40s. This push of milder air comes out ahead of a cold front which will impact us Thursday. It'll be a wet start to our Thursday (watch for ponding of water on area roadways during the morning commute) but rain is expected to transition to snow from northwest to southeast as the cold front moves through. Temperatures will then fall through the 30s and eventually end up in the 20s heading into the evening.

A relatively weak disturbance looks to work in on Friday with a few scattered snow showers and highs in the 20s. As winds shift, conditions could become favorable for areas of heavier lake effect snow to develop east/southeast of Lake Ontario as we wrap up the week and head into the weekend. We'll be in and out of snow showers through the weekend and high temperatures are forecast to fluctuate quite a bit between the 10s, 20s and 30s; however, the consistency lies in that the winter chill will continue to win out.
