Alec Zuch may have grown up in Westchester, but he became a central New Yorker the first time he drove through the lake effect snow! Residing in Liverpool, Alec is proud of the endless beautiful areas and friendly people his new home boasts.

Alec is a graduate of SUNY Oswego’s highly-regarded meteorology program and interned at various news stations in the greater New York City area before joining Spectrum News in September, 2017. When asked about the most meaningful story he’s ever covered, Alec recalls the recent wind storm in Central NY, which provided wind gusts so intense that he and his fellow reporters went live every 10 minutes to provide the latest updates to viewers. Alec loves having the opportunity to be a storyteller and knowing that his words help someone plan their day or week.

When he’s not forecasting your weather, you can find Alec listening to music, exploring new territory in the area, or checking out the local parks and restaurants. His favorite? Heid’s in Liverpool – it’s one of a kind and the best hot dogs you’ll get.
