The Lake Ontario Waterfront Festival is heading to the shore this May, and organizers in Oswego are preparing for large crowds all summer long.

They say the event is part of National Safe Boating Week which promotes knowledge and safety.

Visitors will get to experience the Historic Maritime District through events and activities.

Organizers say there will be plenty of new activities this year like their lighthouse boat tours. The Maritime Museum will put on a temporary exhibit showcasing the city's well-known "Harborfest."

The festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22.
